Past Perfect Continous Tense (Süregelen Geçmiş Zaman)
Past Perfect Continuous Tense, geçmişte bitmiş bir olaydan önce başlamış ve devam eden olayın süresinden bahsetmek için bu zamanı kullanırız.
Zaman sürekli “continuous” olduğundan fiilin sonunda “-ing” takısı vardır.

They had been talking for over an hour before Arda arrived. (Arda gelmeden önce bir saatten fazla süredir konuşuyorlardı.)
We had been trying to open the door for five minutes when Betül found her key. (Betül anahtarını bulduğunda kapıyı beş dakikadır açmaya çalışıyorduk.)
I had been waiting here over an hour. (Burada bir saatten fazla bir zamandır bekliyordum.)
He had been playing football for a long time. (Uzun zamandır futbol oynuyormuş.)
